Do you remember the old song “who wants to be a millionaire?”

In this song the singer sang that he did not want to be a millionaire just because he wanted to be with the person of his affection.

Maybe now that old songwriter would ask who wants to be a millionaire in World of Warcraft. I reckon a lot of World of Warcraft players would answer that one, “I do.”

The problem for many players is that it is quite difficult to obtain enough gold in World of Warcraft for the daily activities of the game. It’s almost impossible to be able to save enough gold to be a World of Warcraft millionaire. Add to the cost of playing, spell upgrades, talent respecs, the repair of equipment, and all the consumables required. This burns through enough gold to keep the player poor.

Many players go through their career as a virtual WoW pauper. They never have a better weapons, or better armor. Simply buying the healing potions and mana they need for a day is an adventure beyond the game. There are players who are never able to buy their epic mount.

This should not be the case, and it doesn’t have to be.

There are actually quite a few methods that players can try to make a huge amount of gold in World of Warcraft.

One of these techniques is to sell loot dropped from monsters in the auction house. It’s very simple, the player simply sells the uncommon, rare, and epic items that he cannot use. It’s really quite easy.

To do this, first create another character, called an alt, on the same server. Then, when the main player character comes across some decent loot, instead of selling it at the vendor, he transfers it to his alt by using the mail system.

Later, the player loads up the alt and goes to the mailbox and receives all the items that were previously sent. He then puts these items on sale at the auction house.

The player then returns to playing his main character without losing huge amounts of time travelling between the auction house and his quest location. Later on, when he’s not so busy playing his main, he logs back in to the alt character to collect his new found wealth. Then, it’s only a matter of sending it back to his main using the in-game mail system.

Of course, this is a pretty simplistic description of how this technique makes gold. There are plenty of other tricks and traps to be taken into account in gold farming using the auction house. For example, some items have green stat combinations that are not all that useful, and therefore do not sell well at all. It’s often better to disenchant these items if possible, or simply sold the items as vendor trash.

There is much to know when making gold while playing WoW, and that is where the gold guides come in. The problem is knowing which guides are actually useful. Fortunately, there are sites specialized in reviewing these kinds of guides.

Mages are one of the most versatile classes in World of Warcraft. If you’re new to being a mage, you may be confused over all the different talents and tactics. You probably need some insight for leveling up. Whether you want to be a fire or frost mage, you need a good guide to help you level up.

Here are a few tips to get you started with being a mage in WoW:

- Get yourself a good wand and level it up. Use it to finish off enemies in order to save mana. It especially comes in handy whenever you have to freeze your opponents and attack them from a distance.

- When attacking a mob, start out with your most powerful spell as far away as possible. The second it shoots off toward them, begin casting it again. By the time they get to you, they should have at least 35% of their hp knocked off. Hurry and cast frost nova and then move to the side about so that they can’t hit you with a short ranged attack. Starting blasting away with your most powerful spells again. If you run out of mana, use the wand.

- Make sure you have plenty of potions equipped at all times. You should also have another method of healing, such as first aid skills and/or lifeblood from herbalism. That way you’ll be able to heal yourself at least twice during a battle in World of Warcraft.

- Don’t become discouraged if you get killed often in lower levels. Mages tend to take too much damage in early levels, and don’t start getting stronger until mid-level. Also, pyroblast is your friend. Even if you want to be a frost mage, you should still make sure you get pyroblast. It will definitely be an extremely helpful, powerful, offensive attack.

- Many mages don’t realize this, but stepping away from an opponent SIDEWAYS is better than backing up. You’ll find yourself maintaining control more easily if you simply turn sideways. If you’re careful, you can even do this while casting a spell!

- Never, ever forget to use arcane intellect! Use should also always have your choice of another power up going. Randomly give other players arcane intellect as well, as they may give you one of their own power ups in return! Any help you can get in World of Warcraft, no matter how small, is helpful.

- Don’t worry about getting new gear every single time you level up. Your Robes, staves, and wands can last through three or sometimes four levels in WoW. Instead of buying new gear every single level, save your gold for really GREAT robes, weapons, etc.
