Grind Hater

I personally hate grinding. But I guess to a certain extent, grinding in World of Warcraft is a must; there is no getting around it. I was grinding my way up when I just started out. Truth be told though, if not grinding at the level cap, you’re not doing most efficient method. If you’re not at the level cap, you want to get there as quickly as possible.

However, for the benefit of all and for completeness sake, I will be covering grinding at low levels. You will need to spend a good deal of your time just going out and killing mobs for a few hours if you want to get your materials, gold, experience, or whatever it is you are looking for. However, if you know where to look, which items to try and get and how much time to spend in each area, you can severely reduce how long you spend grinding and how dull the whole process becomes.

What You Will Grind

For the most part, the rest of the guides you have received have gone over exactly what you need to grind for and how long you must spend grinding to get them. However, there are bunch more things you can keep an eye out, including those that might change with time and become more valuable. These items are always fluctuating, but one thing remains the same; people want them and they are hard to get. If you can meet that demand, you can make a lot of gold in the process.

Vanity Items

The vanity item has no purpose other than to look good on a player. Things like Rare pets, shirts, and seasonal items are all fun little easter eggs that most players are willing to spend a large sum of gold to get and if you can farm them, you can cash in on that demand. You will find a complete list of the various rare pets you can farm for in the Warcraft Millionaire Gold Making Guide. Here are a few more things you can look out for that will net you a nice profit:

Styling Adventure Hat

These hats are major money makers for skinners and leatherworkers, both because of the ingredients needed to make them and the price for which you can sell the hats themselves. You will have to seek out the mobs that drop the pattern for this in Durholde Keep (see the Warcraft Millionaire guide for more information on other vanity hats and where the patterns drop) and it is a Bind on Pickup drop so you personally have to go find it, but if you get one it is well worth your while.

The ingredients you will need include

x6 Heavy Knothide Leather

x2 Cobra Scale

x8 Primal Life

x4 Zhevra Leather

x3 Rune Thread

With the exception of Zhevra Leather (which can still be found in The Barrens rather easily) most of these materials are pretty rare and hard to find drops that will take you some time or cost you some money to acquire. However, the turnaround on the hat is so much greater because of it.

The Orb of Deception

This item is extremely well known and can make you a large sum of money if you know how to utilize it properly. The item also does not drop in Outland so the price only increased further. The best mobs to try and farm the item from though is Razza and Skarr the Unbreakable. These rare spawns are found inside Dire Mauls Arena and will not be around often, but they drop it at a rate of 6.2% and 10%. Even if you wait around for 6 hours grinding on mobs around the area, you will make your money back if you get the Orb drop. You can watch your chat screen and both mobs will start yelling when they have spawned. The current going rate for this item in the Auction House is well over 500 gold, so make sure to take advantage of this while you can.

Set Selling

If you can sell items that help people complete a set (or better yet, an entire set), you can make incredible profits.

Things like the Twill Set or any of the class sets in the game will sell for massive profits ( you can sell the very easy to farm Twill Set for 42 gold with the shovel). The only problem with these is that you cannot list them for auction – you must list them directly to players in the trade channel. However, if you can make these sets you will be very successful.

Who wouldn’t want to look like a Pirate or have a Tuxedo in the game? They will pay greatly to do so.

Blood Elf Bandit Mask

This vanity item is huge right now because itis hard to farm for and can be used by any class or faction right now. All it is though is amask and with no stats it’s a pure vanity drop. However, if you can get one, it sells fo upwards of 50 gold. To farm this item, just find Blood Elf Bandits and farm them for a while – the drop rate is very low, but the mobs are incredibly easy so it shouldn’t be too tough.

Shirts

Undershirts are another big vanity item. Tailors out there can easily make a good deal of money on these as they are cheap to make and sell for a lot of gold. You can even find these sometimes at vendors for relatively cheap. Additionally, tailors use them level up, so you can buy them up for very cheap on the Auction House a lot of the time if you know where to look.

World of Warcraft Mining is my Profession of choice if you are a new WoW gamer. It allows you start getting gold in a fast and easy way. My last article explained what you need to get started. This one gives you an idea of what you need to do to get your WoW Mining Profession leveled up quickly. The following steps are, in my opinion, the fastest way to level up the Mining Profession:

1 to 65: Mine copper here; Dun Morogh for Alliance and Durotar for Horde. You’ll find copper all over the place. Buy the Journeyman mining skill to move on to the next level and to be able to mine Incendicite.

66 to 125: Mine Incendicite; Go to Wetlands, find Thelgan Rock right near the entrance to Dun Algaz, find the cave there, it’s got alot of spiders and a quest ore called Incendicite. This is an Alliance quest but Horde can still mine the ore. The ore is not worth anything but you will easily skill up towards 125. Buy the Expert mining skill to be able to level mining to 225.

126 to 175: Mine Iron and Gold; Go to Alterac Mountains. Alternative areas are Stranglethorn, Arathi, Ashenvale, Badlands, and Desolace. Get enough gold ore and you can smelt them at skill 160 to skill up to 175.

176 to 250: Mine Mithril and Truesilver; Highperch in Thousand Needles. Alternatives are Badlands – Lethlor Ravine for mithril, look for the dragon whelps. After you reach level 200 train for Artisan mining skill.

251 to 300: Mining Thorium and Dark Iron; Go to Searing Gorge and Burning Steppes. Both have an abundance of veins. Once your skill reaches 300, go to Outland to train for the Master artisan skill.

300 to 325: Mining Fel Iron; Check your map to see the peninsula to find The Hellfire Peninsula and The Dark Portal. It’s a large area without any mobs. It’s got alot of veins that make for a quick skill level upgrade.

325 to 350: Mining Adamantite; Go to Nagrand, it has a bunch of Adamantite Ore. Once you get to 350 you need to go to Northrend and learn Mining Grand Master.

350 to 400: Mining Cobalt Ore; Go to Borean Tundra, there you will find alot of Cobalt Ore.

400 to 450: Saronite Ore; Got to Sholazar Basin to find Saronite Ore veins. Max out the mining skill.

Now that you know the steps needed to really maximize your World of Warcraft Mining Profession. With this skill maxed out, you can now start having some real fun!

This is one of those easy to forget tactics in World of Warcraft, one that could cost you if you don’t cover this base early on. You usually realize that you need to get on the ball on about your bags when you find that rare drop and you can’t drop anything to get it because you have too many important items. Well, you need to fix that quickly because you’ll feel the need bags as early as possible, especially during the first 10 levels.

Well, there are several ways to fix this but let’s look at the cheapest and quickest ways first.

What does your guild have or what do your friends have? Find out, because if you can find a friendly tailor you can do some farming and get enough materials to have them make you some bags for the cheap. Tailors are capable of making almost any bag in the game, the only limitations they have is for those special bags for those special drops. If you can’t find a tailor use tradechat to find one. There’s a good chance you can find one that is willing to trade some labor for a good tip.

Also, do some early quests and kill mobs in transit. Humanoid mobs often drop linen cloth in the newbie zone. Get going on this early to start accumulating some cloth to use for a friendly tailor. Some of the quests are specifically for getting bags.

• Wharf Master at Rachet: Old Moneybag, a 6 slot bag.
• Captain Sander’s Hidden Treasure – Captain Sander’s Booty Bag (Alliance only) at Westfall.
• Digging Through the Ooze in Wetlands – 10 slot bag
• Sturdy Lunchbox 12 slot bag can sometimes be had from the drops from mobs of Venture Co. Foreman in Stranglethorne Vale.
• Swirling Vortex, Thousand Needles can occasionally drop a 12 slot bag

Now, if this fails you need to find a good deal at the Auction House. In order to accomplish this you need to hit the Auction House when there is a gluttony of bags to be found, this will ensure competition and will allow you to get the deal your looking for. This is where your Auctioneer add-on comes in handy, you’ll be able to survey the field and find when the supply is high. Couple this with some patience and you will find a winner. It should go without saying that your target is the best bag at the cheapest price that you can afford. 

I find it interesting that I get so many questions from low-level players that are trying to farm gold. Let me be perfectly clear for all of you players that don’t have a ton that is maxed out: LEVEL, don’t farm!

Now I know, when mounts finally become available to you, you want to get one right away. Some of you either stop leveling until you can afford your mount, or you start ‘farming’ a few levels before you are eligible. And who can blame you? Running is a PAIN!

But making gold at low levels isn’t that hard. There are really only 3 things you need to do:

1. LEVEL, and do it quickly! Leveling should be your number one focus. The higher level you are, the higher mobs you will fight. The higher level mobs, the more valuable the drops. Also, the more valuable the quest rewards will be. NOTE: pick up the “Sellfish” mod from curse.com, which will tell you how much each reward item is worth…that way if you can’t use any of the reward items, at least you will be picking the one with the highest vendor price.

2. DO NOT SPEND any money at the AH. You don’t need to. So what if you can upgrade your weapon or armor a little. In two levels you will have an upgrade through a quest anyway, most likely. Watch your copper, and the silver will take care of itself! You shouldn’t ever need to go to the AH to BUY anything!!

3. Take TWO GATHERING professions right away…Herbalism/Mining, Herbalism/Skinning, or Mining/Skinning. Level them as you go. Collect all the stuff you can and dump it on the AH (using Auctioneer to help you find the right sale price).

You will find that obeying those three simple rules will put you in the money!! You should have enough by the time you are eligible to buy a mount without having to ‘farm’.

You not only need it to buy gear and chants to ensure your spot in the best raids but also for the newest and sweetest mounts in the game. So, you can see that Warcraft Millionaire is everything it claims and then some. I’ve been using the guide now for more than six months with extraordinary results. When Wrath was released I leveled three of my 70s to 80 and was able to buy every one of them a chopper. I opted only to get the mammoth on my main but even yet dropped more than 60,000 gold on mounts alone and it was all thanks to this guide I had the gold to do so.
